My honest review: Hada Labo perfect gel

I have been using Hada Labo for more than 5 years now. It all started when I went to Japan for a holiday, went into their drugstores, and one of the most widely available product at that time was Hada Labo. And at that point of time, I had some reading on Hada Labo product ranges and reviews.

I am the type of person who is not into make-up. But I took skincare seriously.  I have dull and dry skin, with pigmentation (freckles) issue.

What caught my eye the most was that they called it a 3-in-1 miracle in one jar. It combines essence, moisturizer, and sleeping mask. So I can save both money and time by getting this.
I used this for a few years at night. I think it did help my skin in keeping it fair and moist. But it causes this sticky residue on the area after application which some may not feel comfortable about. But I guess that what helps in keeping my dry skin moisturized.

Another thing that I always keep in stock is this UV gel.

I use this at daytime as it has the UV protection. It has a light texture, easily absorbed, and does not clump or leave white residue on my face. I usually apply thin layer of compact powder afterwards and ready to go.

Relief from plugged/ blocked duct (Hilangkan bengkak susu)

This post is dedicated to breastfeeding mothers out there, who are just like me once, desperately looking for an answer to get out of the horrifying pain of blocked duct.

The most unforgettable, painful, terrifying experience of breastfeeding is blocked duct, or what we called as 'bengkak susu'.

The most painful for me was after I gave birth to my second child, but my baby needed to be warded in NICU for 5 days. And during that time, it was Raya week. So no 'bidan urut' available at my region. I remembered asking around, searching online, begging for at least one of them to come and help. But none was available. Most already went balik kampung, and others were fully booked. So I was there, for 5 days without my baby to feed, with the most horrible post partum blocked duct, crying in pain and tried to do anything I can.

So here I am, writing this for those whoever in need of relief:

1. Do not press on the engorged breast. It will only worsen the pain. Blocked duct will not open by pressing on the breast.

2. Get yourself Lecithin, or better, prepare this if you are an expectant mother.

Supplemental lecithin has been recommended as a treatment for plugged milk ducts. You can get this from any pharmacy/ drugstore. I got mine from Guardian. It provide quite immediate relief of pain. But the milk from the blocked duct still need to be expressed.

3. Sit in hot shower. Adjust the water to be hot enough but comfortable for you.

4. While sitting in the hot shower, take some soap (I used baby soap). Put some soap on the engorged breast and very gently massage from the outer to the tip. Please be as gentle as you can. Keep going until the milk comes out. No need to press hard, as it will only worsen the pain. You can also use breast pump. If you get tired, slowly come out of the shower and get some rest. You can repeat steps 3 and 4 when needed.

5. Take Panadol (paracetamol) to help with the pain. It is safe to use in breastfeeding.

Blocked duct will happen every once in a while through out the breastfeeding journey.

It's okay, we've got this Mommies!

Life updates

I suddenly remembered this blog exist. Reading through the old posts make me cringe. A good way to reminisce the good old times rather than just looking through some old pictures.

It made me realize that I should appreciate the 'now' time and to write more so the future me will be able to read through and remember how life had been.

So fast forward, I am now a mother of two, on a break from work, currently residing in Singapore, and the world is on a break due to Covid 19.

I am 30 years old this year (so old T.T). My first born is currently 4y 6m and my second born is 9 months old. I am blessed to have this two, along with my amazing life partner. I am amazed on how much I can love when I thought I already loved so much. Thank you Allah.

Its Ramadhan now, the 23rd. We'll be celebrating Raya soon, in MCO version, away from my life partner. Prepared baju raya few months back but sadly he will be unable to wear them. Really hope both countries' MCO will be lifted soon so that le little family can be re-united.

Anyhow thats it. Thought I'd write more but I feel that this is it until now.

See you again dear future me (my blog only reader haha)!

LASIK 2018

Alhamdulillah, officially graduated from wearing glasses! Atleast till I reach presbyopia haha.

Done LASIK for almost a month now. Did it for the covenience, not for cosmetics reasons. I hate wearing contact lenses. As I hate wearing glasses at the same time. I found it to be very disturbing to loose my glasses everytime I wake up, take a shower or even after prayers.

I did some search over the internet for quite some time. And decided to do it after I got my raise lol. Most of the LASIK centers are in Damansara which need at least an hour travel which is troublesome for me. So I googled the places that offers LASIK near Bangi/Kajang/Puchong areas. I did call a few centers including Prof Muhaya's and the Tun Hussein Eye Hospital. And the most affordable price I found at that time was Optimax Eye Specialist Puchong.

I was lucky cos they are having eye carnival at the time, and the price was only RM2998 per eye. So that's RM5996 for both eyes.
So the deal is ON! I booked an appointment on that weekend itself and did my LASIK a week after.

The LASIK process for me is very unpleasant. And the result was not as instant as I thought it was. My eyes stopped stinging after 6 hours. But needed almost a week to stabilize my vision to a perfect 6/6.

So as for now, let's enjoy life without glasses and let's hope I reach presbyopia at a very old age :D

My pregnancy

I don''t know how to put it in words. but my pregnancy was one thing to be remembered for sure. i'm pregnant after 3 months of marriage. working as a pregnant houseman in Hospital Putrajaya in O&G department was not a piece of cake. i was a new comer in Hospital Putrajaya, started my third posting there. the previous postings was in Hospital Batu Pahat. So everything is different, especially the computerized system which make the job faster but not easier. i'll make a new entry for the hospitals comparison later InsyaAllah.

My pregnancy was the greatest one at first. the first two trimester was really nothing much, other than the slightest morning sickness in first trimester.

the starting of third trimester also marks the start of my posting in Putrajaya. my effort tolerance was markedly reduced. and my pedal edema was so bad, i need to change my shoe size. my pillow-like feet felt numb after the morning round. i literally had no time to eat, sleep or even sit. the one thing that kept me going was my baby, every kicks and turns lighten me up. "please keep growing well", was the only thing in mind.

but it slowly eats me till i was diagnosed having severe preeclampsia where my blood pressure start shooting up at 35 weeks. i was having my weekly antenatal check-up in An Nur where they also found out the proteins in my urine. I asked for second opinion from my dear MO is Hospital Putrajaya, and decided to turn myself in for admission. and they decided for induction of labour at exactly 35 weeks 3 days.

my labour process will be in next post insyaAllah :)

"Takutnyaaa nak bersalin!"

Catching up

Obviously I have some catching up to do. The last post I wrote was in 2011, which was FIVE years ago.The posts were so childish, I cant believe I actually wrote them.

Since the past few years, I've done growing up. Now, I have graduated, married, and became a mother to my wonderful son. Yep, how time flies. Life is short. Lets make it meaningful, aite?

so kalau nak naik bas
